Vikki Rogers

Vikki brings to IACCM varied experience in international commercial law, alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and online dispute resolution (ODR). As Director of the Institute of International Commercial Law (IICL) at Pace Law School she managed the largest global online database of international sales law materials (CISG Database) and spearheaded the development of its new content management software and the data migration. During this time Vikki also engaged in several initiatives that have shaped the field of online dispute resolution. She participated as a member of the United States delegation at the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) to develop technical standards for ODR. She has also advised on ODR initiatives at OAS and APEC, and served as an expert advisor to UNCITRAL on ODR. She sits on the editorial boards for the Journal of Online Dispute Resolution, the Journal of Technology in International Arbitration, and is a fellow at the National Center for Technology and Dispute Resolution. Vikki served as the co-chair of the Technology Committee of the Dispute Resolution Section at the ABA, and was a liaison to the ODR Working Group of the ABA Commission on the Future of the Legal Services. Most recently, she is advising the New York Unified Court System on the development of an ODR system for consumer credit-card debt cases. While at Pace, Vikki also served as the Assistant Dean for Online Programs. She collaborated with various University departments toward the development of post-graduate degree programs and also developed online training programs on ADR and international commercial law. These programs annually drew professionals from over 30 countries, creating innovative alternatives for legal training and cross-border collaborative learning. Vikki has taught an International Sales Law Seminar, International Business Transactions, International Arbitration, International Arbitration Advocacy, and Introduction to US Law for law students in the United States, China, South Korea and Germany. She is co-author of the two volume International Contract Manual (Thomson Reuters), and has published several articles on international sales law and ODR, presenting on these topics at conferences around the world. Vikki continues her role as Director to the IICL in an advisory capacity. Prior to joining Pace, Vikki was a practicing attorney, focused primarily on construction law matters - transactional, litigation and arbitration - at firms in the US and Germany (Shearman & Sterling, Mazur Carp & Rubin).
